KNOW BEFORE YOU BOOK

• Balabac is one of the most remote and developing destinations in Palawan. Joining this trip means embracing raw adventure, stepping out of your comfort zone, and experiencing paradise in its most natural form. This is not a luxury tour, but a journey for those who seek authenticity and unforgettable island life.
• This trip includes a sharing boat for island hopping and boat and van transfers are on a shared/public transport basis.
• Van and Boat transfers are publicly shared services. This means that additional passengers may be picked up along the route, and travel times may vary depending on these stops.
• Guests who prefer a private transfer may upgrade to a private van for an additional fee, subject to availability.
• Room or campsite assignments depend on availability and booking order. Accommodation may vary depending on how early or late you booked. It is not guaranteed that you’ll be placed in the same campsite or hostel as other joiners, as you may be assigned to a different accommodation. However, all joiners will share the same location for dinner and breakfast.
• We recommend traveling as light as possible to accommodate everyone on the boat (up to 10kgs luggage per passenger). However, we understand that you may be exploring the Philippines for several days or weeks and might have more belongings with you. In any case we advise preparing a separate small bag with the essentials you’ll need for the first night on the island. Larger luggage may be brought on the boat for island hopping. Any excess bags can be sent ahead to your hostel, where you will arrive on the following night.

WHAT TO EXPECT

• The itinerary is only a guide for the whole trip and may not be exactly followed depending on the sea and weather condition, Some islands are not accessible during extreme weather conditions
• Breathtaking Scenery – Beautiful and Instagrammable beaches, fine white sand, and crystal-clear waters.
• Adventure Over Comfort – Facilities are basic; some islands have no house-type comfort rooms and limited electricity.
• Not Yet Fully Developed – Balabac is still growing compared to El Nido, Coron, or Puerto Princesa. If you’re very finicky or expect luxury, Balabac might not be for you.

OTHER ESSENTIALS TO PREPARE

• Cash Only – No banks or ATMs. Bring extra cash for personal expenses.
• Remittance Centers – Only Palawan Express and MLhuillier are available in town.
• Connectivity – Cellular signal is limited to calls and texts. Mobile data works only in the town proper and nearby islands.
• Electricity – Power supply is limited; bring power banks for your gadgets.

MEALS & HEALTH

• Meals usually consist of rice, seafood, meat, vegetables, fruits, and drinks. We do not
  accommodate strict dietary restrictions; please bring your own extras if needed.
• Guests must be physically fit and in good health. Maintain minimum health and safety
  standards at all times.

 WEATHER & FLEXIBILITY

• Itineraries serve as a guide only and may change depending on sea and weather conditions.
• Trips may be rescheduled or refunded if canceled due to typhoons, rough seas, travel bans, or other force majeure events.

CULTURE AND RESPOSIBILITY

• Respect the locals and their traditions – Most island residents are Muslim.
• Avoid overly revealing clothing while in town or public streets. Beach attire is fine when island-hopping.
• Be a Responsible Traveler – Observe proper waste disposal, contribute to protecting the environment, and leave no trace.

Remember: Take nothing but pictures, leave nothing but footprints.
