How to Get to Balabac
Though transfers are usually included in our tour packages, we’d like to share this guide for travelers who want to understand the journey to Balabac specially for people who preferred a DIY option.
Step 1: Fly to Puerto Princesa
Most visitors begin by flying into Puerto Princesa International Airport (PPS), with daily flights available from Manila, Clark, or Cebu.
Step 2: Land Transfer to the Port
From Puerto Princesa, you’ll need to travel by van to Buliluyan Port in southern Palawan. Travel time is around 4–6 hours.
Important Note:
To catch the boat on time, be prepared for an early departure from Puerto Princesa at around 2:00 to 3:00 AM. This ensures you arrive at the port in time for the only daily boat trip window to Balabac, which departs between 8:30 to 9:30 AM.
Step 3: Boat Ride to Balabac
From the port, you’ll board a boat bound for Balabac Island. Travel time usually takes 1.5 to 2.5 hours, depending on weather and sea conditions.
