KNOW BEFORE YOU BOOK

Balabac is one of the most remote and developing destinations in Palawan. Joining this trip means embracing raw adventure, stepping out of your comfort zone, and experiencing paradise in its most natural form. This is not a luxury tour, but a journey for those who seek authenticity and unforgettable island life.
This trip includes a sharing boat for island hopping and boat and van transfers are on a shared/public transport basis.
Van and Boat transfers are publicly shared services. This means that additional passengers may be picked up along the route, and travel times may vary depending on these stops.
Guests who prefer a private transfer may upgrade to a private van for an additional fee, subject to availability.
Room or campsite assignments depend on availability and booking order. Accommodation may vary depending on how early or late you booked. It is not guaranteed that you’ll be placed in the same campsite or hostel as other joiners, as you may be assigned to a different accommodation. However, all joiners will share the same location for dinner and breakfast.
We recommend traveling as light as possible to accommodate everyone on the boat (up to 10kgs luggage per passenger). However, we understand that you may be exploring the Philippines for several days or weeks and might have more belongings with you. In any case we advise preparing a separate small bag with the essentials you’ll need for the first night on the island. Larger luggage may be brought on the boat for island hopping. Any excess bags can be sent ahead to your hostel, where you will arrive on the following night.

WHAT TO EXPECT

The itinerary is only a guide for the whole trip and may not be exactly followed depending on the sea and weather condition, Some islands are not accessible during extreme weather conditions
Breathtaking Scenery – Beautiful and Instagrammable beaches, fine white sand, and crystal-clear waters.
Adventure Over Comfort – Facilities are basic; some islands have no house-type comfort rooms and limited electricity.
Not Yet Fully Developed – Balabac is still growing compared to El Nido, Coron, or Puerto Princesa. If you’re very finicky or expect luxury, Balabac might not be for you.

Remittance Centers – Only Palawan Express and MLhuillier are available in town.

Electricity – Power supply is limited; bring power banks for your gadgets.
Insect Repellant – A must bring item along with long-sleeved dresses or pants for added protection against sandflies and mosquitos in the island.

MEALS & HEALTH

Meals usually consist of rice, seafood, meat, vegetables, fruits, and drinks. We do not
accommodate strict dietary restrictions; please bring your own extras if needed.
Guests must be physically fit and in good health. Maintain minimum health and safety
standards at all times.

WEATHER & FLEXIBILITY

Itineraries serve as a guide only and may change depending on sea and weather conditions.
Trips may be rescheduled or refunded if canceled due to typhoons, rough seas, travel bans, or other force majeure events.

CULTURE AND RESPOSIBILITY

Respect the locals and their traditions – Most island residents are Muslim.
Avoid overly revealing clothing while in town or public streets. Beach attire is fine when island-hopping.
Be a Responsible Traveler – Observe proper waste disposal, contribute to protecting the environment, and leave no trace.

What’s included in the tour package?

Your package covers the days of island-hopping with meals, tour guide, boat and van transfers, entrance fees, and accommodations in Balabac.

What’s not included?

Airfare, Puerto Princesa accommodation, personal expenses, payment fees, and meals not listed in the itinerary.

How do I confirm my booking?

To confirm your booking, payment is required within 24 hours of receiving your booking email.

Once payment is made, kindly send us a copy or screenshot of your proof of payment to reservations@atxtravelph.com or reply directly to your booking confirmation email.

Your booking will be officially confirmed once the payment has been verified by our team.

Can I cancel or reschedule my trip?

Cancellations within 7 days before the tour are not allowed. Reschedules must be coordinated with your tour coordinator; additional fees may apply. See Cancellation Policy

What happens in case of bad weather?

If trips are canceled due to typhoons, rough seas, or other force majeure events, you may reschedule or receive a refund. See policy here

What happen if the number of participants fall below minimum.

Joiner tours are subject to a 10-person minimum number of participants. The tour may be canceled or prices may adjust if the participant count falls below the required minimum. You will be notified in advance.

What should I bring?

Bring sun protection, swimwear, towel, dry bag, cash, waterproof camera, and personal medication. Travel light (7–10 kg limit).

Are there ATMs or mobile signal in Balabac?

No ATMs or banks — bring cash. Only Palawan Express and MLhuillier remittance centers are available. Mobile signal is limited to calls and texts.

What type of accommodations are provided?

Joiners stay in tents at Punta Sebaring and shared rooms in Balabac Town. Upgrades (AC rooms, nipa huts, geo domes) are available depending on availability.

Are meals included?

Yes — breakfast, lunches and dinners are included. Meals usually feature rice, seafood, meat, and vegetables.

Is the tour suitable for everyone?

Guests should be physically fit and ready for a rustic adventure. Balabac is a developing destination with limited facilities and electricity.

How early should I arrive for the tour?

Pick-up in Puerto Princesa is between 2:00 AM and 3:00 AM. Return to PPS is around 2:00–3:00 PM on Day 3. Make sure your flight schedule fits this timing.

What are travelers expected to observe?

Respect local culture (many residents are Muslim), avoid revealing clothing in town, and practice responsible tourism — take nothing but pictures, leave nothing but footprints.

Do you accommodate dietary restrictions?
